Professional SportsThe Huntsville Havoc continues the strong tradition of hockey in the Tennessee Valley. The team often plays before a packed audience on their home ice in the Von Braun Center. The Havoc currently play in Southern Professional Hockey League where they continue to have an impact every season. 
The Huntsville Stars are the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. The Stars play at Joe Davis Stadium where they have won several Southern League titles. For many years the Stars have sent many top players to Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics (80s & 90s) and now the Milwaukee Brewers. Since 1959 Huntsville Speedway had provided automotive racing entertainment to local residents. Rusty Wallace, Mark Martin and Sterling Marlin are some of the names that have passed through the Huntsville Speedway towards the premier racing leagues. The Premier South Football League's semi-professional football team in Huntsville. The PSFL is a developmental league for the National Football League, Arena Football League & the Canadian Football League. Home games are played at Milton Frank Stadium. The NPSL's semi-professional soccer team in Huntsville. Rocket City United has been playing since 1997 against opponents such as Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Tulsa. The team plays at Madison City Schools Stadium. The 1/8th mile track in Toney is where the Huntsville Dragway shows off its part in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA)'s Southeast Division II membership. Races included R&R Bracket Series, Rocket City Nationals, and the ORSCA Throwdown. Hunting, Fishing, ect...One of the best nature aspects of Alabama is the vast river system. Alabama has over 1,350 miles of navigable rivers, more than any other state in the continential United States. The rivers are such a large part of the state that there is only one county out of the sixty-seven that does not touch a river: Clay County. And where there are rivers, you'll likely find game not that far behind. Madison County Lake is 105-acres and offers public fishing lake, concessions, picnic facilities, grills, rentals & a bait shop. A Fishing license & daily permit are required. It is open daily from sunrise to sunset, except December and January, when it is open Friday through Sunday only. Closed on Wednesdays. Open year round, Ditto Landing provides outdoor entertainment through skiing, fishing, swimming, and picnicing. It also has a marina, club house, boat dock, fuel station, dry dock, storage, picnic grounds, camp grounds, RV hookups, fishing docks to suit the needs of the outdoor adventurer. The Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge is 35,000 acres and provides hunting, fishing, and wildlife observation. Bass, sunfish, crappie, sauger, and catfish are fish that can be found there, while public hunting is permitted on approximately 18,000 acres. Lake Guntersville is 950 miles of winding shoreline and 69,000 acres of the sparkling, fun filled waters. It offers excellent boating, fishing, skiing, swimming and golfing. Other ActivitiesRocket City & Cotton Row Runs The Benton H. Wilcoxon Ice Complex is a two sheet facility serving the ice skating community in North Alabama.
